DOOH vs Static Billboards: Which Works Harder for Your Brand?

Digital out-of-home has grown quickly across the UAE, and the question we hear most often from clients is whether it should replace their static sites altogether. The honest answer is that the two do different jobs, and the best campaigns usually run both.

Static billboards own a location. Your message is there every hour of every day, which builds strong association with a place and gives creative the room to be bold and permanent. For landmark sites and long-running brand campaigns, that presence is hard to beat.

DOOH trades permanence for flexibility. You can change creative by daypart, react to weather, sport results or stock levels, and buy shorter flights around specific moments. It also lets several advertisers share premium locations, which lowers the entry cost on sites that would otherwise be out of reach.

Our rule of thumb: use static for the sites that define the campaign and DOOH to add reach, timing and relevance around them. Measure both against the same objective and let the results shape the next flight.
